Hotels close to the World Cup Stadium Durban
Durban has a huge hospitality industry thanks to its status as the South African working family’s preferred holiday destination and it’s role as the busiest port city in Africa.
If you are looking for affordable hotel or lodge accommodation in the vicinity of the Moses Mabhida Stadium where the Durban matches are to be played then you are in luck. The stadium is situated more or less within walking distance of the beachfront which is where the greatest concentration of hotels and guest houses is to be found.
A quick word of warning though for those contemplating this area as their base for catching the main matches. The Durban beachfront and esplanade are both extremely popular with holiday makers, night revelers and bandits. South Africa is a high crime region, and despite the fact that local police will be highly visible all over Durban during the tournament, midnight walks along the beach or drunken sleepovers on a park bench are both a very bad idea.
