Review
When you are in Cape Town, visit Langa, the city’s first township – and if you happen to stay out until late, and don’t feel like going back to the city, Ma Neo’s B&B is where you can relax in comfort and style.
Ma Neo offers you a choice of three bedrooms: one big room inside the main house, and two rooms in small outbuildings, all with television. In the mornings, you can choose between a delicious English or African breakfast – and other meals are prepared on request.
Manager Thandiwe can arrange transport for you: she will pick you up at the airport, drop you off after your stay, and enjoys taking guests around Langa, to see the neighbourhood, historical sites, and possibly even a traditional healer, so they have plenty of good stories to tell when they’re back home.
Many original features of the house have been kept intact, to create the atmosphere of a typical black township home, which survived the political upheavals of the 1980s up to the present time.
This B&B shares true African warmth with visitors, adopting them into the Ma Neo family, and providing an opportunity to experience the richness of black South African history and culture in Langa.
