Where to Watch Game in Kruger: Best Park Guidebook
My photograph of it is lousy, but the book itself is a gem: Where to Watch Game in the Kruger National Park by Nigel Dennis is a must-have for anyone planning a self-driving tour to SA’s finest wilderness experience.

The book details all the major camps, from Crocodile Bridge in the park’s extreme south to Punda Maria in its far north, and gives brilliant advice about which roads to take in your search for game – and which roads to avoid.
It’s incredibly easy to use – just cast a glance at the differently-colored roads as you drive along. Red marks the best roads, green the good ones, and black the roads to avoid. I used it for the first time on my last trip to Kruger, and it never missed – we enjoyed Big Five viewings in abundance!
