The Brew Route: Durbans answer to the wine route?

The Zulu Kingdom now offers visitors a chance to experience the Brew Route, similar in many ways to the wine routes of the Western Cape.

The Route consists of 8 breweries, which range from SABMiller (second largest brewer in the world) to the family run Farmers Brauhaus in Hattingspruit, Dundee.

The route takes tourists through a large part of the province and is impossible to complete in one day, but there is excellent accommodation available throughout the route, especially in the Midlands.

The route is not to be rushed as there are many other attractions along the way, such as the Midlands Meander situated in the Valley of a 1000 Hills and is a unique mix of more than 160 places to eat, drink, sleep, shop and play. Remember, don’t drink and drive so take along a DD, join an organised tour or take the route very slowly!

Now back onto wine, the time has come for another Mr Price “Music at the Lake”, this time with the incredible Parlotones… one of South Africa’s hottest bands. So pack that picnic full of wine, cheese and cocktail sausages and come on down, oh and don’t forget the blanket… there is no better way to spend a Sunday afternoon, except maybe on the beach with a cocktail or 3!
